Early Learning Foundations 2
Purpose: Organizes the cortex level of the brain and improves inter-hemispheric communication for improved reading and processing.
This is the pre-cursor to cross skip. Start by marching in place. Touch right hand to left knee, then left hand to right knee. Make sure that the knees come up high and client touches the opposite hand to the raised knee with each step. It is important that the arms swing back as far as possible. When this can be done in place then start forward movement and vary the speed. After client is proficient with this activity, they can do this activity to the beat of a metronome for added benefit; begin with 60 beats, then 40 beats, then try other speeds.
