Teacher Instructions Week 10

Lizard SS

Purpose: Lizard SS organizes the brain at the Pons level. Watching the upper hand improves eye function. This is one of the best activities to bring in the adult head-righting reflex.

Instructions: Client lies on floor on stomach. This is a stationary activity.

  • Bend left arm, left hand is placed at eye level, head turns to look at left hand. Left leg is bent, left knee is at hip level.

  • Right arm and leg are straight down.

  • Switch positions simultaneously, dragging palm and back of hands.

  • Head turns to look at "up" hand.

  • Build to required reps on INP. Do Lizard SS 21 days straight and then return to 5 days a week.

  • Count "one" each time client returns to "start" position.

Variation: Do this slowly with eyes closed.

After client is proficient with this activity, they can do this activity to the beat of a metronome for added benefit; begin with 60 beats, then 40 beats, then try other speeds. Purchase a metronome at your local music supply store or you can use an online metronome at: www.metronomeonline.com.
