Row Boat

Purpose: Vestibular Stimulation - The inner ear mechanism that produces balance and stimulates many cranial nerves to globally improve function of an individual.

 

This activity can also improves or develops eye tracking. Two individuals sit on the floor facing each other. Both of their knees are bent with feet flat on the floor. Their lower bodies are beside each other. Each has his feet close to the hip of the other with their knees together. One person's knee is touching the other person's knee. They hold hands with arms fully extended. One person leans back until their back gently touches the floor. Then the other person leans back pulling the first person to a sitting position. They continue pulling back and forth for the duration of the time. After the technique is learned and can be done smoothly and with confidence, each person looks up and back over their head as they are moving backward. While coming up the individual looks forward.
