## Number of the Day

Be sure to notice the different emphasis of this activity when you get to numbers 11-20.

Variation #1: If the child already knows the name of the number being studied this week, do this instead of of just identifying the number. The teacher asks what number comes before or after the number for that day.

Variation #2: The teacher asks the child to count from a random number that she tells the child to the number of the day that the child found on the wall. This could be repeated 3-4 times by giving the child a different number to count from to the current number of the day.

Variation #3: When the number studied that day is larger than 12, have the child count from 10 to the number of that day. This should only be done if the child knows the number well or it is toward the end of the days of study of that particular number.
